Building Committee Meeting Summary – 5/19/05Committee Members Present: Linda VanBuren, David VanBuren, Carl Heide, Pastor Phelps, Pastor Metzger, June Kamm, Roger Loptien, Gerald Hartmann, Marlene Turk, Ellen Brown, Pam Bolander, Lowell Evans, Richard Rowlett, Bernice Maness. Others Present: Eilene Ehrhardt, Diane Lundbeck, Sheri Hoffman, Kent Hoffman, Patti Schoo, Sue Malone, Willis Heide, Jim Wilson, Heidi Phelps, Robin Dallesasse. From Larson & Darby: Joe Winkelmann, Sherri Goodwin, Gene Elliott. Meeting called to order by Carl Heide at 6:00 pm, prayer by Pastor Phelps. Minutes read and motion made by Pastor Phelps to accept. Seconded by Richard Rowlett, accepted. Meeting turned over to Sheri Goodwin. She displayed floor and color patterns and discussed the colors, quality, and where they would be used. She brought samples of main cupboards, etc. trying to keep things low maintenance and budget conscious. Showed how the floor can be laid so that basketball circles are incorporated into the vinyl design. Multi purpose room – Luxury vinyl patterned with color. Three modules shown. Roger Loptien moved to accept upper left hand court module. Seconded by Pastor Phelps. Discussion held. Lowell Evans calls for a vote. Motion to accept upper left hand designs show in Sherri’s drawing with laser design and half circles put in to mark the basketball court. Vote taken, accepted with one against. Colors to be chosen later. Joe Winkelmann showed up to show drawings of floor plans. For bidding purposes the sidewalks should be included in the floor plan. Chuck Ormond has boulders which will be incorporated into landscaping. Boulders given for use to add to water tank for stability. Given by D. Rowlett. Joe suggests that the stone be delivered to the site so contractors will see what they will be working with. Detention pond is to have very gentle slope everything aimed at draining into the pond. Parking stalls straight in. Sheet drain on front slope goes to pond. Organ man has given his input so they can plan area. It will have a small room with 2 doors. A swell box change. It was noted that costs have gone up (labor, etc.) and we need to find ways to cut. Discussion held and some good ideas came up. Carl asked Gene and Joe to try to come up with some other ways to cut cost. Pastor Phelps reminds us it is God’s house and He will provide. Next meeting with L&D will be June 2, 2005. June Kamm |
