Pastor Weinhold was born on May 20, 1956 in St. Louis Mo. He was brought into the Lord’s Kingdom on June 7 through Holy Baptism. He attended the University of Missouri and then completed a B.S. in Business Administration at Valparasio University in 1978. Pastor Weinhold attended Concordia Seminary, St. Louis graduating in 1982 with a Master of Divinity degree and in 1983 with a Master of Social Work in family from St. Louis University. He was ordained in 1983 and has served as pastor of congregations in Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Wisconsin and most recently in Dubuque Iowa.
He married his wife, Lisa, in 1982 in St. Louis. Lisa attended Lutheran high school in St. Louis and has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Oral Roberts University. She received her C.P.A. and enjoys working in accounting and taking care of the Weinhold household. The Weinholds have three children: Joshua, 19, Rachel, 17, and Caleb 14.
Pastor Weinhold has worked with the LWML as zone counselor, a homeless shelter, campus ministry, hospice program, as well as various circuit and district planning committees. He enjoys coaching youth baseball and has served as president of Dubuque Little League Baseball. He is enthusiastic about possibilities for ministry and looks forward to working in the Sycamore area to further the growth of God’s kingdom. He is ready and willing to help in any way needed.

The
Rev. Marvin Gregory Metzger is the son of Nestor and Elizabeth Metzger of Rochelle,
Illinois. He grew up on a farm near Rochelle, and was baptized and confirmed
at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rochelle. As a layman, he was active at St.
Paul's in the areas of youth Bible studies, youth counselor, and chaperoning
at synodical youth gatherings in Ft. Collins, Colorado, and San Antonio, Texas;
he also served on the Stewardship and Education committees for nine years.
After graduating from Rochelle Township High School, he attended Concordia Lutheran Junior College, Ann Arbor, Michigan, and received an Associate of Arts degree. Thereupon he returned to farm. After additional study at Kishwaukee College, Northern Illinois University, and Concordia University in River Forest, he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia 1986.
He pursued his theological studies at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and received the Master of Divinity degree in May, 1990. He served as vicar (intern) at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
In 1991 Pastor Metzger was issued a call to serve at St. John's in Sycamore, and on July 14th he was ordained into the Office of the Public Ministry and was installed as Associate Pastor.
Pastor Metzger is married to Mary Jo (Gillis) of Creston, Illinois. They are blessed with three children: Danelle, Nora, and Gabriel.
