The Rev. Paul Mumme

Senior Pastor

Pastor Mumme began serving as our Senior Pastor here at Saint John in 2019. He grew up on a farm in southern Minnesota before going on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia University (River Forest) and a Master of Divinity degree from Concordia Theological Seminary (Fort Wayne). Ordained in 1998, he has served as pastor in parishes in Franklin Park, Chicago, and Bolingbrook (all Illinois) before coming to serve our congregation. He and his wife Lori have four sons.

The Rev. Timothy Frick

Assistant Pastor

Pastor Frick began serving as Assistant Pastor here in 2020. He was born and raised in Sycamore and attended Concordia College (Milwaukee), Concordia College (Saint Paul), and Concordia Theological Seminary (Fort Wayne). He has served parishes in Waterville and Elysian (Minnesota), Evanston, Cary, and Genoa (Illinois), and numerous places as interim pastor. He and wife Sandi have four children, three sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, and twelve grandchildren.

Carol Brown

Deaconess

Deaconess Brown earned a Masters of Arts in Deaconess Studies from Concordia Theological Seminary (Fort Wayne). She was commissioned and called to serve at Saint John in 2018. Carol is a lifelong resident of Sycamore. She has two daughters, two grandsons, and one granddaughter with whom she loves to spend time.

Nicholas Hansen

Organist

Nicholas Hansen began serving as Saint John’s organist in 2023. He is from the small town of Lindenwood, Illinois. He completed his Director of Parish Music degree from Concordia University Chicago in December 2023. In his spare time, Nick enjoys visiting his grandparents and spending time with family.
