LCMS Young Singles Retreat: “Fideles Christo”

Saturday, August 6 • 1:00-7:00pm

LCMS singles age 18-30 are invited to join us on Saturday, August 6 for a Young Singles Retreat. Our theme is Fideles Christo, a Latin phrase meaning faithful to Christ. The afternoon will feature presentations by Pastor Jonathan & Meridith Fisk, indoor and outdoor activities, food, and fun. We’ll conclude with Evening Prayer. Participants are welcome to hang around after 7:00pm and play board games. Registration is only $20. Come and get to know other LCMS singles who faithfully confess Jesus Christ and the one true faith.

Jonathan Fisk is the author of four books, including ECHO: Unbroken Truth Worth Repeating, Without Flesh: Why the Church is Dying Even Though Jesus is Still Alive. He has been an active voice for Lutheran Christianity on the internet for over fifteen years, with over 4 million views on his YouTube channel “revfiskj” including the top hits “Freestylin‘: Jesus = Religion” and “Not Until I Say I Do”. His current projects include the podcast A Brief History of Power with Dr. Adam Koontz, the Saturday morning show Stop the White Noise with Jonathan and Meridith, and the Hebron Collegium in Rockford Illinois, a gap-year Bible-school for men founded on inhabiting the value of the biblical Psalms and Proverbs as essential for Christian life. He and Meridith have five baptized children and are committed to not wallowing in the muck with those who have no hope, but lifting up their heads high, and all the more as we see the Day approaching.

Along with managing the home economy and appearing on youtube with Jonathan in order to field question on Christian relationships, parenting, emotional psychology and nutritional health, Meridith also writes, being published in both the Lutheran Witness and Bella Grace. She recently took on the second full time job of raising the family’s German Shepherd puppy Aurelius, attends weekly lessons in Biblical Hebrew, and acts as house mom for the “fellas at Hebron.” There is no joy she knows like a few more moments chatting and laughing with her children, Chloe, Anastasia, Trinity, Fides (“Fee-days”) and Alleluia, though she does also desperately love the family’s other furry pet Sweet Rabbit.

“Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”
